Jul 1, 2021 · I bought a JRA M14 back in 2018 but it was defective. I would load a magazine, pull the charging handle and would fire the first round fine. But it failed to eject the spent case and pull a new loaded shell from the magazine. I bought my JRA at Classic Firearms and when I called the for an RMA they put me in touch with Bula Defense. LRB and Bula are generally considered the best builders of forged receivers. A good M14 is as reliable as an M1. I would say a Springfield M1A falls in that category. I am with the others here: take advantage of Springfield's warranty and don't change a bunch of parts out. My personal M14 is a JRA, with the receiver made by Bula.M14 M1A Forum. Modern M14. Don't know specifically about a completed JRA M14 rifle, but I have used a number of JRA / Bula receivers in builds and have had excellent results. Receivers were made for JRA first by LRB Arms on Long Island NY, then 7.62 MM Firearms in Medina Ohio and finally by Bula Defense Systems in Cleveland Ohio.James River Armory Extraction.
