Use the proper sized wrenches to remove the shields' bolts. Pull off the shields and slip the belt off of the pulleys. Locate the spring-loaded brackets at each corner of the mower deck. Park the Scotts riding mower in a level area. Turn off the engine and remove the key. Place a wooden block at each corner of the mower deck. Lower the deck down onto the blocks.
