Just bought my 09 yesterday and this afternoon was checking over everything after reviewing the owners manual and when I came to the transmission dipstick I couldn't figure out how to pull it out. Unless your trans fluid is burnt up or the level got low, it should be able to do its job and lubricate the moving parts well enough to prevent any significant quantities of metal particles.
