6404 engine 7500 hrs no turbo, Unit started to get engine oil in the coolant, last year, head was removed and surfaced pressure checked, valves ground ect. Oil cooler was replaced, 6 months later the unit is still getting a lot of scum oil in radiator and block, was cleaned out and coolant flushed, still continues to get oil in coolant.

I have run 8630s and 8640s and every one of them had A,B,C and D. You have a main hydraulic pump driven off the front crankshaft pulley. A common failure is the pump drive coupling causing the main pump not to turn. Check for that first between the pump and front crankshaft pulley. Dec 29, 2012 · We had a John Deere 8440. It was fairly reliable, a bit hard to start. Performance was where it was lacking. No tourqe at all. Rated RMP was 2100, it would lug down to 2000 RMP, any lower than 2000 and you were at 0. After that we had a JD 8570. The clutch went out of it at 1948 hours.
